RMS United Way Campaign 2018

Our corporate office wrapped up another successful year of fundraising for the Greater Twin Cities United Way. The week-long fundraising event held late fall consisted of a silent auction, cook-offs and competitions all designed to maximize donations to the local charity. Penny Wars generated a great deal of cash and excitement leaving our CFO Troy Johnson with a pie in the face. Thanks for being a good sport for a worthy cause, Troy! RMS Delivers PC7000 Komatsu Excavator

RMS recently delivered a Komatsu PC7000-6 hydraulic excavator to one of our taconite mining customers in Northern Minnesota. The machine weighs 1,530,300 Ibs, features a 46-cubic yard bucket and is powered by Cummins 1,675 HP twin engines. The machine was delivered in 34 semi-truck loads (3 of these being super loads). Guest Speaker for TriDistrict Students

Pete Anderson, Director of Safety & Technician Development, was a guest speaker last week for a group of TriDistrict high school students.  This group is enrolled in the Transportation Business and Technologies program. Pete presented on Diesel Technology and careers in the heavy equipment industry and shared information about RMS and potential career paths.   TriDistrict Career &College Readiness is a year-long professional career exploration and skill development program. The initiative is a collaboration between three southeast metro-area school districts, which includes South St. Paul Public Schools, Inver Grove Heights Community Schools, and West St. Paul-Mendota Heights-Eagan Area Schools. Students who are selected to participate in the program spend half days for the semester with two instructors learning different transportation industry related topics. In their second semester, the students will be placed with businesses for work experiences and to deepen th
