Guest Speaker for TriDistrict Students


Pete Anderson, Director of Safety & Technician Development, was a guest speaker last week for a group of TriDistrict high school students.  This group is enrolled in the Transportation Business and Technologies program. Pete presented on Diesel Technology and careers in the heavy equipment industry and shared information about RMS and potential career paths.  

TriDistrict Career &College Readiness is a year-long professional career exploration and skill development program. The initiative is a collaboration between three southeast metro-area school districts, which includes South St. Paul Public Schools, Inver Grove Heights Community Schools, and West St. Paul-Mendota Heights-Eagan Area Schools. Students who are selected to participate in the program spend half days for the semester with two instructors learning different transportation industry related topics. In their second semester, the students will be placed with businesses for work experiences and to deepen their learning.

Road Machinery & Supplies Co. Acquires Ruffridge Johnson Equipment Company

  Road Machinery & Supplies Co. (RMS) finalized the acquisition of Ruffridge Johnson Equipment Company in May 2024. Ruffridge Johnson is a heavy equipment dealer located in Centerville, Minn., that offers aggregate, paving and environmental products and service.    “This acquisition gives RMS a north Metro location for customers in the Twin Cities and demonstrates our commitment to serving the aggregate and paving industries with a diverse lineup of product offerings. I look forward to the opportunities this will bring, and I welcome the Ruffridge Johnson team to RMS,” said RMS CEO Mike Sill II.    Ruffridge Johnson was founded in 1936 and currently represents Terex MPS’ Cedarapids line of crushing and screening products; Masaba conveying products; Carlson pavers; Doppstadt trowels; ROSCO products; and BOMAG equipment. RMS Delivers PC7000 Komatsu Excavator

RMS recently delivered a Komatsu PC7000-6 hydraulic excavator to one of our taconite mining customers in Northern Minnesota. The machine weighs 1,530,300 Ibs, features a 46-cubic yard bucket and is powered by Cummins 1,675 HP twin engines. The machine was delivered in 34 semi-truck loads (3 of these being super loads).
