Komatsu Sourcewell Announcement

Road Machinery & Supplies Co. (RMS) announces that, as a distributor of Komatsu America equipment, it can now support local government and public agencies who source contracts through Sourcewell (formerly the National Joint Powers Alliance), one of the largest governmental cooperative agencies in North America, representing more than 50,000 members, including government, education and nonprofit organizations.

As a result of Komatsu’s national cooperative contract, RMS can immediately offer local Sourcewell members access to pre-approved pricing, construction equipment and related accessories, attachments and supplies. 

“Cooperative contracts through Sourcewell allow government entities to buy high-quality Komatsu equipment at a competitive price,” said Andy Schwandt, Vice President Sales & Marketing, RMS. “With RMS’ commitment to customer uptime, service and parts availability, and Komatsu machines that set the standard for value, reliability and innovation, these entities can be confident about finishing jobs fast and keeping ownership costs low.”

Komatsu America was awarded a contract to provide Sourcewell members with access to over 50 different products, as well as Komatsu’s world-class technology, service and solutions. Sourcewell members will be supported by Komatsu’s experienced distribution network, with more than 200 branches across North America.

RMS Delivers PC7000 Komatsu Excavator

RMS recently delivered a Komatsu PC7000-6 hydraulic excavator to one of our taconite mining customers in Northern Minnesota. The machine weighs 1,530,300 Ibs, features a 46-cubic yard bucket and is powered by Cummins 1,675 HP twin engines. The machine was delivered in 34 semi-truck loads (3 of these being super loads). Road Machinery & Supplies Co. Acquires Ruffridge Johnson Equipment Company

  Road Machinery & Supplies Co. (RMS) finalized the acquisition of Ruffridge Johnson Equipment Company in May 2024. Ruffridge Johnson is a heavy equipment dealer located in Centerville, Minn., that offers aggregate, paving and environmental products and service.    “This acquisition gives RMS a north Metro location for customers in the Twin Cities and demonstrates our commitment to serving the aggregate and paving industries with a diverse lineup of product offerings. I look forward to the opportunities this will bring, and I welcome the Ruffridge Johnson team to RMS,” said RMS CEO Mike Sill II.    Ruffridge Johnson was founded in 1936 and currently represents Terex MPS’ Cedarapids line of crushing and screening products; Masaba conveying products; Carlson pavers; Doppstadt trowels; ROSCO products; and BOMAG equipment.
