RMS Parts Specialist Recognized for Outstanding Performance

Road Machinery & Supplies Co. Parts Specialist, Colton Moore, was recently recognized by Komatsu for his outstanding performance in the Komatsu Parts Counter Challenge. As part of the competition, Parts Specialists from across Komatsu’s North American distributors compete in monthly challenges that were designed to teach best practices, new system functionality and product training. Colton finished in the Top 20 out of 68 participants. Here is his interview:

What do you like the most about your job?
Seeing a project through to completion is my favorite part of the job, regardless of the size or importance of it. Knowing I have helped a customer in need or seeing the result of a project brings a sense of importance to my position.

A good tip for building trust and the relationship with your customer?
Showing the customer that you care and want to help them. You can do such by really listening to them when they are upset, calling them back as soon as possible, and keeping them informed of the progress. Even if you do not have a final answer, you want to make sure they are aware of the status. These all help build a trusting relationship with customers.

How did the Komatsu Parts Counter Challenge Program help you in your daily activities?
The online training and machine inspections helped provide a sounder understanding of the machine layouts, which in turn helps provide more efficient service to customers. Building on the relationships with both customers and the PSSR during the PSSR ride along has helped me earn their trust and respect for future needs.
