RMS Investing In the Future

Komatsu NDSCS Diesel Technology Program Graduates

Road Machinery & Supplies Co. is pleased to announce that three Komatsu Diesel Technology sponsored students graduated on Friday, May 11, 2018 from North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, North Dakota. Mitsuhiro (Rocky) Sogawa, Vice President of Service, Product and Services Division – Komatsu America Corp attended the commencement ceremony and presented each graduate with authentic Japanese coveralls in recognition of their accomplishment. All three graduates have accepted full-time positions with RMS; two at the Savage location and one at the Sioux City location.

Each student completed 24 weeks of an onsite, paid internship with the RMS service departments in Savage and Sioux City. The internships complement the classroom and diesel lab training received at the Wahpeton, ND campus. The fast paced 20-month program allows students to complete their education while avoiding student loan debt. In addition to obtaining their associate of Applied Sciences degree in Diesel Technology, each sponsored student has guaranteed job placement and can earn up to 100% of tuition and fees reimbursed over the first three years of employment.

Komatsu, RMS, and NDSCS have teamed up to counteract the shortage of young people pursuing these skilled positions, and encourage high school students to learn more about this program at www.ndscs.edu. They can also contact Pete Anderson at Road Machinery & Supplies Co. to learn more about Komatsu and RMS’s partnership with this program.
