Heavy Equipment Adventure

Road Machinery & Supplies Co. hosted a Heavy Equipment Adventure at Extreme Sandbox in Hastings, MN. The event, organized by NDSCS, gave Twin Cities metro high school students information about careers in diesel technology. During the event, students engaged in hands-on activities, spoke with RMS technicians and operated Komatsu excavators and dozers. RMS representatives were on site to answer questions about the industry, career opportunities, and the Komatsu Diesel Technology Program offered through the North Dakota State College of Science (NDSCS). This fast-paced program combines state-of-the-art, on-campus training with 24 weeks of paid internships at a sponsoring Komatsu dealership. Students receive technical training on Komatsu equipment through a combination of classroom and hands-on laboratory instruction. Congratulations to our North Dakota State College of Science graduate, Tyler Dubbels! On Friday, May 10 th , he completed the two-year Komatsu Diesel Technology Program and earned his Associate of Applied Sciences degree in Diesel Technology. He has accepted a full-time position with RMS at our Savage, MN location. This fast-paced program combines state-of-the-art, on-campus training with 24 weeks of paid internships at a sponsoring Komatsu dealership. Students receive technical training on Komatsu equipment through a combination of classroom and hands-on laboratory instruction. Guest Speaker for TriDistrict Students

Pete Anderson, Director of Safety & Technician Development, was a guest speaker last week for a group of TriDistrict high school students.  This group is enrolled in the Transportation Business and Technologies program. Pete presented on Diesel Technology and careers in the heavy equipment industry and shared information about RMS and potential career paths.   TriDistrict Career &College Readiness is a year-long professional career exploration and skill development program. The initiative is a collaboration between three southeast metro-area school districts, which includes South St. Paul Public Schools, Inver Grove Heights Community Schools, and West St. Paul-Mendota Heights-Eagan Area Schools. Komatsu NDSCS Diesel Technology Program Graduates Road Machinery & Supplies Co. is pleased to announce that three Komatsu Diesel Technology sponsored students graduated on Friday, May 11, 2018 from North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, North Dakota. Mitsuhiro (Rocky) Sogawa, Vice President of Service, Product and Services Division – Komatsu America Corp attended the commencement ceremony and presented each graduate with authentic Japanese coveralls in recognition of their accomplishment. All three graduates have accepted full-time positions with RMS; two at the Savage location and one at the Sioux City location. Each student completed 24 weeks of an onsite, paid internship with the RMS service departments in Savage and Sioux City. The internships complement the classroom and diesel lab training received at the Wahpeton, ND campus.
