  Dan Olson has joined RMS as Aggregate Division Manager, the position previously held by current Vice President of Sales Ben Schmidtlein.   Dan brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this role, having spent his entire career in the construction equipment industry. Most recently, he served as Director of Sales & Marketing at Hayden Murphy Equipment, and prior to that as General Manager for RTL Equipment where he successfully led all aspects of the business with a strong emphasis on sales and marketing. Previously, Dan was Vice President at THECO where his leadership in process improvement drove exceptional growth. RMS hosts forestry demo

Attendees were able to mingle with RMS employees, manufacturer reps, and other industry contemporaries. The live two-day demo featured a Timberpro TN735D feller buncher, Komatsu PC210LC-11 with Forespro delimber, and a Komatsu eight-wheeled 931 harvester and 855 forwarder.

Hanson sold his house, bought a building for his equipment, and the family moved into his camper.   Hanson found the local projects around New London, Minn., to be extremely competitive for a new outfit, so he got his bonding and insurance qualifications in line and started bidding projects. Buying the machine was the simple part. Ben Schmidtlein promoted to Vice President of Sales

    Ben Schmidtlein has been promoted to Vice President of Sales, effective immediately. Ben joined Road Machinery & Supplies Co. in 2021 as Aggregate Division Manager and since has built a team of aggregate sales and technical support specialists, expanded our product offerings, and nearly doubled our sales of aggregate equipment. He also recently assumed responsibility for the Pit & Quarry division which is focused on consumable aggregate products.   In his role, Ben will be responsible for managing RMS’ sales and rental efforts, as well as equipment inventory management for RMS, RMS Rentals, and U.S. Shoring & Equipment Co.  He will also manage after-market sales efforts and serve as the primary point of contact for our OEM manufacturers to coordinate the execution of our dealer obligations.   While Ben has been focused on aggregate equipment in his tenure at RMS, he has valuable experience with construction equipment fr...

Road Machinery & Supplies Co. Acquires Ruffridge Johnson Equipment Company

  Road Machinery & Supplies Co. (RMS) finalized the acquisition of Ruffridge Johnson Equipment Company in May 2024. Ruffridge Johnson is a heavy equipment dealer located in Centerville, Minn., that offers aggregate, paving and environmental products and service.    “This acquisition gives RMS a north Metro location for customers in the Twin Cities and demonstrates our commitment to serving the aggregate and paving industries with a diverse lineup of product offerings. I look forward to the opportunities this will bring, and I welcome the Ruffridge Johnson team to RMS,” said RMS CEO Mike Sill II.    Ruffridge Johnson was founded in 1936 and currently represents Terex MPS’ Cedarapids line of crushing and screening products; Masaba conveying products; Carlson pavers; Doppstadt trowels; ROSCO products; and BOMAG equipment. RMS breaks ground at new Sioux City location

      WATCH: Check out a recap video of the Sioux City groundbreaking   Road Machinery & Supplies Co. held an official groundbreaking ceremony for its new Sioux City location on Wednesday, May 15. The new 12,000-square-foot facility will replace the current branch, which was built in the early 1950s. The event was attended by RMS employees, the Sioux City Chamber of Commerce, Mayor Bob Scott, local news and other key partners involved with the project.   "This facility is going to be a substantial upgrade from what we have had in the past," said CEO Mike Sill II. "Sioux City is an important market for RMS. It is the gateway to western Iowa, and we represent a number of brands in Nebraska and South Dakota that we can service out of this location. Bob Newman awarded Jerry Hart Award by NUCA

      Territory Manager Bob Newman was recently awarded the   National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA) of Iowa   Jerry Hart Award. The award is presented to an outstanding associate member of NUCA of Iowa in recognition of the member's outstanding efforts and their support of the association. Members are nominated by their peers and the Board of Directors cast a vote to select the final winner.
