Bob Newman awarded Jerry Hart Award by NUCA

 


 

 

Territory Manager Bob Newman was recently awarded the National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA) of Iowa Jerry Hart Award. The award is presented to an outstanding associate member of NUCA of Iowa in recognition of the member's outstanding efforts and their support of the association. Members are nominated by their peers and the Board of Directors cast a vote to select the final winner. Having served as a member for many years, Bob was nominated by Vanderpool Construction. 

 

“Receiving the Jerry Hart Award from Project Manager Jamie Crubaugh with Vanderpool Construction was truly humbling. My journey over the last 40 years has been enriched by invaluable lessons imparted by my customers, who have now become good friends. I extend my thanks to Road Machinery & Supplies Co. for this incredible opportunity,” said Bob Newman.

 

With more than 80 members, comprised of utility and general contractors and suppliers, NUCA strongly represents the interests of the underground contracting community and has for decades.

RMS Delivers PC7000 Komatsu Excavator

RMS recently delivered a Komatsu PC7000-6 hydraulic excavator to one of our taconite mining customers in Northern Minnesota. The machine weighs 1,530,300 Ibs, features a 46-cubic yard bucket and is powered by Cummins 1,675 HP twin engines. The machine was delivered in 34 semi-truck loads (3 of these being super loads). Ben Schmidtlein promoted to Vice President of Aggregate

    Ben Schmidtlein has been named Vice President of Aggregate for Road Machinery & Supplies Co. Schmidtlein joined the company in early 2020 and has been instrumental in guiding nearly four years of steady, substantial growth in aggregate sales and support for Road Machinery & Supplies Co.   Under Ben’s direction, RMS has built a dedicated Aggregate Division with a focused sales and support team. In 2022, RMS purchased Pit & Quarry Supplies Co., which provides competitive aftermarket parts options for customers and added a dedicated warehouse in Savage for aggregate products.
