Ruffridge Johnson Consolidates into RMS


  


Since acquiring Ruffridge Johnson in 2024, Road Machinery & Supplies Co., (RMS) has been evaluating the most impactful way to integrate the Centerville, Minn., branch location and equipment offerings to best support customers. To more closely align its aggregate and construction equipment teams to increase customer engagement and streamline operations, RMS has made the decision fully integrate Ruffridge Johnson into RMS.

The Ruffridge Johnson sales team has been integrated into the RMS Aggregate Division, led by Dave Hosch, General Manager. As part of this transition, the former Ruffridge Johnson facility in Centerville joins Savage, Byron, Virginia and Duluth as RMS’ fifth Minnesota-based branch location, and tenth overall branch location. 

The Centerville location offers accessibility for customers in the Minneapolis-St. Paul northern metropolitan area. The facility provides a full range of support, including equipment sales, rentals, parts, and service capabilities, to provide more responsive and convenient solutions for customers in the area.

“Since the acquisition in 2024, Ruffridge Johnson has been a valuable addition to our organization,” said President Russell Sheaffer. “With Centerville transitioning to a full-service RMS facility, we now have the opportunity to improve responsiveness and support to our customers in the north metro.”

As part of the integration, RMS is actively working to transition the facility into an RMS branch. This includes building signage to interior branding to ensure a common and consistent customer experience found at the other RMS branches.

Additionally, the equipment lines previously represented by Ruffridge Johnson will now be supported and covered by RMS. More detailed information regarding specific product lines will be communicated in the coming weeks.

Robert Dousette – Parts Manager

Delton DeMarce – Field Technician

Matt Bialka – Shop Technician

RMS Delivers PC7000 Komatsu Excavator

RMS recently delivered a Komatsu PC7000-6 hydraulic excavator to one of our taconite mining customers in Northern Minnesota. The machine weighs 1,530,300 Ibs, features a 46-cubic yard bucket and is powered by Cummins 1,675 HP twin engines. The machine was delivered in 34 semi-truck loads (3 of these being super loads). Dan Olson joins RMS as Aggregate Division Manager

  Dan Olson has joined RMS as Aggregate Division Manager, the position previously held by current Vice President of Sales Ben Schmidtlein.   Dan brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this role, having spent his entire career in the construction equipment industry. Most recently, he served as Director of Sales & Marketing at Hayden Murphy Equipment, and prior to that as General Manager for RTL Equipment where he successfully led all aspects of the business with a strong emphasis on sales and marketing.
