RMS Expands BOMAG Coverage into Iowa and Illinois

Road Machinery & Supplies Co. (RMS) has been named the primary dealer for BOMAG soil, asphalt, and landfill compaction products in 22 Eastern Iowa counties and four Illinois counties. The Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and East Moline, Illinois, branches, will provide sales, parts, service, and other support capabilities to customers in the territory. RMS is also the official BOMAG soil, asphalt, and landfill compaction dealer for the state of Minnesota except for six counties in southwest Minnesota. 

“We’re excited about our expanded footprint with BOMAG. This complements our existing BOMAG partnership and will help us better serve our existing customers while earning new ones throughout our coverage area,” said Vice President of Sales and Marketing Andy Schwandt.

Jamie Winkler, BOMAG Americas Director Sales, said, “RMS and BOMAG are continuing to support our customers in the local Iowa community with highly skilled and knowledgeable sales and service teams to service the soil, asphalt and land compaction industries.” 

BOMAG product lines supported by RMS include embankment compactors; light and heavy pneumatic-tired rollers; refuse compactors; and light, medium, and heavy single-drum, combination, and tandem rollers.

The new RMS service area includes Allamakee, Benton, Cedar, Clayton, Clinton, Delaware, Des Moines, Dubuque, Fayette, Iowa, Jackson, Johnson, Jones, Keokuk, Linn, Louisa, Muscatine, Poweshiek, Scott, Tama, Washington, and Winneshiek counties in Iowa and Henderson, Henry, Mercer, and Rock Island counties in Illinois.

RMS Delivers PC7000 Komatsu Excavator

RMS recently delivered a Komatsu PC7000-6 hydraulic excavator to one of our taconite mining customers in Northern Minnesota. The machine weighs 1,530,300 Ibs, features a 46-cubic yard bucket and is powered by Cummins 1,675 HP twin engines. The machine was delivered in 34 semi-truck loads (3 of these being super loads). Ben Schmidtlein promoted to Vice President of Aggregate

    Ben Schmidtlein has been named Vice President of Aggregate for Road Machinery & Supplies Co. Schmidtlein joined the company in early 2020 and has been instrumental in guiding nearly four years of steady, substantial growth in aggregate sales and support for Road Machinery & Supplies Co.   Under Ben’s direction, RMS has built a dedicated Aggregate Division with a focused sales and support team. In 2022, RMS purchased Pit & Quarry Supplies Co., which provides competitive aftermarket parts options for customers and added a dedicated warehouse in Savage for aggregate products.
