Burrows Joins RMS as PSSR Sales Manager

Road Machinery & Supplies Co. (RMS) has hired Tom Burrows to the position of PSSR Sales Manager. In this new position, Tom will manage RMS’ network of PSSRs and provide guidance and support to the team.

Burrows brings 13 years of extensive experience in the ready-mix and mining industries, holding managerial roles in each. The Twin Cities native also served in the Navy for years and has a bachelor’s degree in construction management from the University of Minnesota, an MBA from Hamline University and a master’s certificate in mining from University of Leicester in England.

“I am very excited for the opportunity to get started in this position,” said Burrows. “I have a passion for this industry and working with people. I think RMS has a tremendous reputation and I am proud to be a part of it.”

The newly created PSSR Sales Manager position was designed to increase the efficiency of the PSSR network and aid in aftermarket parts sales.

“This position will bring a focus and dedication to our PSSRs’ efforts,” said President Russell Sheaffer. “Tom is a great fit for this role because he brings a lot of experience and enthusiasm. He will be a great benefit to RMS.”

“Our goal is to be recognized as an industry leader in product support and sales,” said Vice President of Support and Southern Operations Joe Schmidtlein. “Tom has a unique perspective from the consumer side and has great goals for the department.”

RMS Delivers PC7000 Komatsu Excavator

RMS recently delivered a Komatsu PC7000-6 hydraulic excavator to one of our taconite mining customers in Northern Minnesota. The machine weighs 1,530,300 Ibs, features a 46-cubic yard bucket and is powered by Cummins 1,675 HP twin engines. The machine was delivered in 34 semi-truck loads (3 of these being super loads). Ben Schmidtlein promoted to Vice President of Aggregate

    Ben Schmidtlein has been named Vice President of Aggregate for Road Machinery & Supplies Co. Schmidtlein joined the company in early 2020 and has been instrumental in guiding nearly four years of steady, substantial growth in aggregate sales and support for Road Machinery & Supplies Co.   Under Ben’s direction, RMS has built a dedicated Aggregate Division with a focused sales and support team. In 2022, RMS purchased Pit & Quarry Supplies Co., which provides competitive aftermarket parts options for customers and added a dedicated warehouse in Savage for aggregate products.
