RMS expands Masaba coverage throughout Iowa

 


 

Road Machinery & Supplies Co. has been named the official Masaba dealer in Iowa, expanding its coverage from Minnesota to the entire RMS footprint. Customers in Iowa will now have access to sales and support of the entire Masaba conveyor and material handling lines through the RMS branches in Cedar Rapids, Des Moines, East Moline, Ill., and Sioux City.

For more than 60 years, Masaba has manufactured innovative aggregate, mining and construction equipment that has earned a reputation as a leader in each industry. Masaba offers products for conveying and material handling, portable and stationary plant chassis, and custom-engineered solutions.

The highlight of the Masaba equipment line is its Magnum telescoping conveyor. Available in single- or dual-drive, the innovative GEN II track drive’s unique and robust design further improves engagement between the teeth and drives for even smoother stinger operation, improving long-term durability and minimizing required maintenance. The updated track drive now comes standard on all units.

The addition of the Masaba line boosts the aggregate offerings for RMS, providing customers with more quality and industry-specific equipment options along with the trusted service and support offered by RMS.

The partnership between RMS and Masaba began in 2024 when RMS purchased Ruffridge Johnson, a Masaba dealer located in Centerville, Minn., that supported the Minnesota territory. In early 2026, RMS’ coverage for Masaba was extended throughout Iowa.

RMS Delivers PC7000 Komatsu Excavator

RMS recently delivered a Komatsu PC7000-6 hydraulic excavator to one of our taconite mining customers in Northern Minnesota. The machine weighs 1,530,300 Ibs, features a 46-cubic yard bucket and is powered by Cummins 1,675 HP twin engines. The machine was delivered in 34 semi-truck loads (3 of these being super loads). Dan Olson joins RMS as Aggregate Division Manager

  Dan Olson has joined RMS as Aggregate Division Manager, the position previously held by current Vice President of Sales Ben Schmidtlein.   Dan brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to this role, having spent his entire career in the construction equipment industry. Most recently, he served as Director of Sales & Marketing at Hayden Murphy Equipment, and prior to that as General Manager for RTL Equipment where he successfully led all aspects of the business with a strong emphasis on sales and marketing.
